China to lower defense budget growth to 7.5 percent

China plans to increase its defense budget by 7.5 percent in the fiscal year of 2019, slightly lower than last year's 8.1 percent
The government proposed a defense budget of 1.19 trillion yuan ($177.6 billion), according to the draft fiscal plan released on Tuesday. The plan will be reviewed by legislators at the second session of the 13th NPC.
