Xi presides over China-Africa COVID summit

President Xi Jinping presides over an extraordinary China-Africa summit on solidarity against COVID-19 pandemic on Wednesday.
The summit, jointly initiated by China, South Africa - the rotating chair of the African Union - and Senegal, co-chair of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, is held via video link.
Leaders of African countries, including members of the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government and rotating chairs of major African sub-regional organizations, attend the summit.
Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and World Health Organization Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also participate.
