A model of China's Fuxing bullet train was presented by President Xi Jinping to Prayut Chan-o-cha, then Thai prime minister, as a national gift during his state visit to Thailand in November 2022.
The train model sports a special coating in the colors of the Thai national flag.
The China-Thailand railway is a flagship Belt and Road project jointly conducted by the two countries and Thailand's first standard-gauge high-speed railway.
Upon completion, the railway will be connected to the China-Laos railway, forming a railroad artery that crosses the Indochina Peninsula and accelerating infrastructure connectivity in the region.
