BEIJING -- An article by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on the implementation of requirements for the Party's self-reform will be published on Monday.

The article by Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will be published in this year's 23rd issue of the Qiushi Journal, a flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee.

Strengthening full and rigorous Party self-governance by starting with Party conduct is an important experience the Party has acquired for its self-reform in the new era, the article says.

Noting the arduous tasks in realizing Chinese modernization and a complicated governance environment facing the Party, the article stresses the importance of enhancing understanding of the Party's self-reform, which will improve the Party's image and public trust, motivate Party members and officials, and ensure robust political support for high-quality development.

The article also says that, for the Party to advance its self-reform, it is essential for Party members and officials to enhance Party consciousness -- with a focus on consolidating their ideals and convictions, loyalty to the Party, and commitment to the people, and enhancing their moral character and integrity.

Meanwhile, Party members and officials must bear in mind at all times that all power is granted by the people and must be exercised responsibly, it says.

Noting that rigorous oversight of discipline compliance is a powerful instrument in the Party's self-reform, the article stresses the importance of resolute crackdown on violations of Party discipline and the law with forceful means.

The article also urges officials at all levels to resolutely fulfill their Party governance responsibilities and effectively foster a culture of integrity.
