China-Laos 'golden passage' boosts travel and trade across the region

According to China State Railway Group, the railway has maintained safe and stable operations since its launch, with both passenger and freight volumes rising sharply this year.
Since its opening in December 2021, the 1,035-kilometer line linking Kunming in Southwest China's Yunnan province and Vientiane, the capital of Laos, has significantly reduced travel times, lowered logistics costs, and enhanced cross-border mobility, injecting fresh momentum into the economic and social development along the China-Laos corridor.
