Sleeper swallows sucker whole, needs surgery

A man in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, awoke with pains in his stomach after swallowing a lollipop he had been eating before falling asleep.

The man, surnamed Liu, fell asleep with the candy in his mouth and, after awaking to stomach pains, rushed to the hospital where doctors removed the 8-centimeter long plastic lollipop stick from his stomach.
