A ceremony is held to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the establishment of Tashi Gepei Temple in Xietongmen county of Shigatse city, Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region, on July 10, 2016. [Photo/Chinanew.com] The temple was originally built in 1316. The fourth Panchen Lama incorporated the temple as a branch of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in 1613. The Tashi Lhunpo Monastery is now seat to the Panchen Lama, the second-most important spiritual leader of Tibet. |
