Kids with birth defects get life-changing surgery

About 200 children suffering from malformed limbs in Shaanxi Province are receiving cost-free surgeries this month and next.

The operations are supported by a State lottery welfare fund, which provided more than 600,000 yuan (US$72,000) for the project this year.

The children are from families that lack wealth. Children with deformed limbs under the age of 18, whose families earn an income lower than local average, can apply, reports www.sxtvs.com.
