Summer tea leaves processed by Lixiang Ecological Agriculture Co, headquartered in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, have been chosen for the European market, due to their fresh fragrance and eco-friendliness.
The company's output of tea leaves this summer amounted to 300 metric tons, and its daily processing capacity has reached 20,000 kilograms. Newly-picked tea leaves need to be crushed, heated, screened, and packaged before they travel to Europe.
"The European Union is considered one of strictest places for imported tea, as it has revised the standard for tea pesticide residue every year since it launched in 2000. This proves that our product is indeed pollution-free," said Wang Chengxu, a spokesperson with Lixiang.
Located in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau area, Guian New Area boasts high altitude and limited sunshine, making it suitable for producing quality tea trees.
