Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf hosted a ceremony in his presidential palace on Feb 9，2008 to raise curtain for the subjected projects contracted by CGGC-CMEC JV.
President Musharraf expressed his thanks for Chinese government and CGGC for the significant contribution to Pakistani economic development. He stated in his speech that this Project with installed capacity of 963MW will mitigate the power stress in Pakistan and provide sound foundation for the national economic development in the future and will definitely become a new milestone of Sino-Pakistan friendship.
Luo Zhaohui, Chinese ambassador in Pakistan greeted the commencement of the Project on behalf of Chinese government cordially and expressed his wishes for earlier completion of the Project.
Over 1000 people including officials from Kashmir under the control of Pakistan, staffs from the Contractor and various circles attended this ceremony.
