Guo Taiming, the founder and chairman of Foxconn, was born in Taipei, Taiwan. His parents are Shanxi natives who moved to Taiwan in 1949.
Guo founded Foxconn, or Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, in 1974. Now the company is the world's largest contract manufacturer of electronics and the fourth largest information technology company by revenue.
Foxconn has factories in many countries, including Brazil, India, Hungary, Turkey, Japan, South Korea and the United States, with the largest one in Shenzhen, China.
