Chinese lawmakers to review draft law revisions, proposals
BEIJING -- The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), or the national legislature, will deliberate on draft revisions to the Public Security Administrative Penalty Law and the Law against Unfair Competition, as well as a proposal to ratify the Convention on the Establishment of the International Organization for Mediation.
The lawmakers will also review a proposal on approving the central government's final accounts for 2024.
The decision was made during a Council of Chairpersons meeting on Wednesday, presided over by Zhao Leji, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee. Following discussions on relevant reports, the Council of Chairpersons decided to submit the draft revisions and proposals to the ongoing NPC Standing Committee session for deliberation.
The Council of Chairpersons meeting also heard reports on lawmakers' qualifications and personnel appointments and removals, among other legislative matters.
